Case Study: Bradbeers
If you’ve been to the Hampshire town of Romsey, you’ll no doubt have visited Bradbeers department store.
The family-owned retail company Bradbeers has been in business since the start of Queen Victoria’s reign in 1837 and operates from four main sites, in three towns on the south coast. with department stores in New Milton and Romsey and two furniture stores in New Milton and Southampton. At 45,000 square feet, the Hedge End furniture store is the largest independent furniture shop on the south coast.
“Our existing CCTV system was fairly old,” explains Mark Hall of Bradbeers. “More than that, it was piecemeal in design, because cameras had been added in response to business need over a period me. We wanted an integrated system that enabled us to protect the whole store.”
iFacility designed a bespoke and carefully planned system to minimise disruption in the busy retail environment, all at Bradbeers have been delighted with the new set-up and says it has already helped reduce losses.
“iFacilitys staff were professional, efficient and insightful throughout,” concludes Mark. “Their team took the trouble to understand our business and specify a system that would respond to our needs. I’ve been very impressed by the technology, and the enhancement it has brought to our business, as well as by iFacility’s first-rate customer care.”

“Our existing CCTV system was fairly old,” explains Mark. “More than that, it was piecemeal in design, because cameras had been added in response to business need over a period me.
We wanted an integrated system that enabled us to protect the whole store, which is when we decided to get iFacility in to conduct a survey.
A total of 42 HD IP CCTV cameras were installed. They were positioned in busy areas, with mul ple cameras monitoring the tills and remote access for all managers so that they can view any camera location through a tablet or smart phone.
A further benefit of the system is that iFacility can export footage to Bradbeers if there is an incident, thanks to its use of IP technology. “Because all footage is stored digitally,” explains iFacility’s sales manager, Adrian Dorey, “we can send it to any computer from our internal iManage system. As a result, it can be shared with the police in a matter of minutes.”
